Agree on the agenda beforehand to manage the expectations of both parties
Be prepared by doing some research on the other party before you meet
Ask lots of questions to make sure you understand the other member’s business and objectives
Qualify what type of referral you are looking for and how you would like to receive it. i.e. email, phone call, WhatsApp
Clarify how or who is best to refer to them
Remember to follow up after your meeting, it keeps you top of mind and shows consideration and respect
